In a book, you mark your place so that when you return to your reading, you can pick up exactly where you left off. A petal droops and falls from a bouquet onto a folded shirt. Unlike fiction, you can never return to the same moment in time. The petal will be moved, the shirt will be worn again, and the back will turn and walk away until the person wearing it is no longer in sight.
